Hotel General Manager

Lead the Best Western Pony Soldier Inn in Portland. We’re looking for a hands-on general manager who builds strong teams, takes great care of guests and grows the business through sales and community relationships.

Full job description

Sales & revenue growth

  • Build relationships with local businesses, contractors, travel partners and community organizations
  • Develop and grow corporate, government, group and negotiated accounts
  • Partner with ownership on marketing and business development
  • Watch market trends, competitors and pricing, and drive occupancy through sales and revenue management

Financial performance

  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, labor and expense controls
  • Analyze results and find ways to improve operations and grow revenue
  • Own the P&L and run an efficient operation

Leadership & operations

  • Lead day-to-day hotel operations
  • Recruit, coach and develop a positive, service-driven team
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences and consistently high service standards
  • Maintain Best Western brand standards and resolve guest concerns professionally

What we’re looking for

  • At least 5 years of hotel leadership experience, including general manager or senior hotel management
  • Proven success in hotel sales, revenue growth and operations
  • Strong understanding of revenue management, market segmentation and pricing
  • Financially minded, with experience managing budgets and performance metrics
  • A hands-on leader who motivates and holds teams accountable
  • Best Western experience is a plus, but not required

Pay & benefits

  • $70,000 to $90,000 a year, plus bonus potential
