CFOMy Story
Joe Martel, the Chief Financial Officer of MBE Hospitality Management, brings a wealth of experience and a passion for the hospitality industry to his role. Growing up on a small farm in Lindon, Utah, Joe always had a knack for business, which he decided to channel into commercial real estate. However, a life-changing scout trip to ski Deer Valley steered his focus towards hospitality, a field he has been dedicated to ever since.
Joe pursued a degree in hospitality management and gained extensive hands-on experience in the industry, working in various roles including grounds, F&B, front desk, night audit, and even as a ski instructor. His dedication to the field led him to complete an MBA at Southern Utah University, and he further enhanced his expertise by becoming a CPA licensed in both Colorado and Utah.
Before joining MBE Hospitality Management, Joe held several prominent positions in the industry. He served as an Accountant at Stein Eriksen Lodge, Controller at Grand America Hotels & Resorts, and Corporate Controller for Lodging Dynamics Hospitality Group. These roles have equipped him with a deep understanding of hotel accounting and financial management.
Outside of his professional life, Joe enjoys skiing, teaching cello lessons, and hiking with his wife, Naketa, often with their baby strapped to his back. His diverse interests and background reflect his dynamic approach to leadership and his commitment to excellence in the hospitality industry.

Honest, Humble, Reliable. When Joe isn't thinking about hotel accounting, he is probably skiing, teaching cello lessons, or hiking with his wife Naketa with a baby strapped to his back.
